TSCase Study

The Challenge

Beginning in 2011, Townsquare Media’s f inance team actively sought ways to improve its forecasting and reporting systems, which required time-consuming manual input. As their financial systems grew in complexity, they needed to speed up the availability of information and reporting for stakeholders across the organization and ensure data accuracy for better decision-making across different markets without costly licensing upgrades and lengthy implementation services engagements.

The Solution

Townsquare Media discovered ReportWORQ through an online search and were impressed by its automated reporting and planning contributor features. After a brief demo and a commitment-free, two-week trial, they found the platform easy to navigate and customize. By the end of the trial, they achieved production-ready value and quickly moved to full rollout without needing implementation services. ReportWORQ integrated with their systems, allowing automated reports to be distributed via SharePoint and email.

"We’ve saved countless hours of report creation. Before using ReportWORQ, all of our report distribution was manual. It took too many hours to create and distribute those reports appropriately to the market presidents."

Delivering the Solution

Townsquare Media’s team found ReportWORQ through an online search and were impressed with its automated reporting features and planning contributor application.

After seeing a short demo, Townsquare Media was excited about being able to prove ReportWORQ’s value in a nocommitment, two-week, free trial.

They didn’t expect how easy it would be to navigate, set up, and customize their use cases during the trial. After achieving production-ready value during the proof of concept, the Townsquare team was ready for a rollout of the software solution.

Because ReportWORQ requires no implementation services, its customer success team worked with Townsquare Media to target new use cases immediately following the trial. Successful connections to Townsquare’s financial systems and planning systems were set up, and ReportWORQ seamlessly integrated with the underlying data sources. Within a matter of 2 weeks, Townsquare was bursting daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports tailored to the needs of each market. Today, automated reports are shared via SharePoint in addition to email.

Soon after the initial integration, Townsquare began using ReportWORQ’s Contributor feature for its quarterly forecasting process.

Now, instead of sending files out to get offline input in spreadsheets, the Contributor application tracks submission and approval workflow. Comments are now shared and saved within ReportWORQ and stakeholders no longer have to keep up with emails to see progress. Submissions are tracked within the Contributor tool so that approval status and pending budgets are available at any time.
