AI Enablement
AI Audit Trail for Finance
An AI tool gave someone at your company a number last week, and probably a correct one. Nobody else knows it was asked, so nobody can confirm it was correct.
Most general AI tools are right often enough that people trust them by default. Finance doesn't operate on “usually right” anywhere else. Every number in a report has a source someone can point to. An AI answer without a record has none.
Three things, not a vague notion of logging:
Miss any one of these, and the record is incomplete exactly when someone needs it.
The standard Finance already applies to its reports now covers a new source.
A report that goes through review before Finance publishes it carries that review to any AI answer sourced from it. The audit trail is what proves that happened.
Every request an AI assistant makes to your reports is recorded with a timestamp. Each entry shows who it was for and which report it read. Open one, and you see the full request and exactly what came back, stored as it happened.
When Reportworq's own AI writes insights into a report, those calls are logged too, with the prompt and the response. Your administrators can filter either log and export it to Excel.
Signing off continues after the answer goes out. The audit trail is where it happens.
Next in this series: what a defensible answer is for. It replaces reporting work Finance already does, instead of adding another AI project on top.
